Just a sweet little photo from a recent maternity session. I love the sweet but possessive look in her eyes. It’s that bond between parents and kids that I find absolutely mesmerizing… parents as an extension of themselves.
Mine…
Chloe is one year
This was my last meeting with Chloe on our year long journey of photos. I’m cooking up a few ideas for offering a baby’s first year package and so enlisted her mom’s help in creating a year of portraits. She’s gone from being a chubby bunny to a slender wee thing. And while I hear she’s a total go-er this day she chose to check things out. Which was perfect because I pretty much was entranced with every detail of her…long baby lashes, silly swoopy cowlicks, deliberate little fingers and of course, the sweet chubbiness of her face.

And a nice reminder that while sometimes life is all smiles…no means no.
Mercy Now
Always makes me pause….and try to be patient and loving and grateful. It came on tonight as I was working and I just thought it would be really nice to share. I talk to my brother all the time and he’s having a hard time right now as he finishes school and tries to find a job and copes with life and I just wish so many good things for him and mercy. It’s a nice thing…mercy.
I thought Mary Gauthier was an old time country singer when I heard the song “I Drink” (love it)…but friends corrected me and made me a mix (love love it). Now she’s at home in my library with all my other soulful lady singers (much to some people’s chagrin).
Siblings and friends…
Mom wanted to capture the wonderful playfulness and easy camaraderie of her kids. And that’s just what we did…throw in some good naturedness and a lot of silly talk and it was a real good time…

Scooter love
Ari got a scooter. Loves his scooter. Perfect sunny day…no school…playing at the park with his “big boy” neighbor. Perfect holiday.

Just visiting
It’s good sometimes just to be a friend…to eat yummy lunch and special cupcakes and go for a walk and play in the park and witness spontaneous hugs. To take a few snaps but not really worry about it having to be just so. It doesn’t hurt that the kids are seriously cute and more than a little sassy…

Emily and Kyle are engaged!
Little things make me irrationally happy when I am taking photos…like skateboards….and shy boys that are secretly silly face makers (and not so secretly totally into their loveys).
